They all produce the same sound quality on basic systems. Don't waste money on over priced cables. This cable is cheap and it works great.
These cables perform as well as the name brand higher price ones. Would certainly buy again
Caveat: it's possible Sony's connector on the back of the DVD player is at fault, but it's easier to blame the new cable.Summary: the cable might have been better designed to connect more firmly. While the units are warming up, the sound will often cut in and out, sometimes staying off for up to a minute at a time. It does not seem to connect so well on the Sony end. The connection problem goes away later when all is warmed up. Cables are easy to forget if they're working OK, but they really stand out when they're not. I purchased this digital cable new to connect my Sony DVD player to my Onkyo receiver. Fiddling with the cable at the back of the DVD player does help.
Good shielding, solid connections, works without a hitch. This seems like a pretty good cable for the price. If you're considering, I'd say you can't go wrong.
Cable was used to replace a optical cable that was about 8 inches too short for my application. Cable has plenty of length, good contacts, and stays attached to both components with sturdy "grips."
